What to Expect on Your First Visits
Onboarding Visits
New patients often remark how “homey” our office is. That’s good because our goal is to offer state-of-the-art chiropractic care in a comfortable surroundings. So, make yourself at home!
Make Yourself at Home
You’ll find plenty of convenient parking and a well-lit parking lot. You’ll be greeted by name when you enter our office and given a short tour to get you acquainted with our facilities. If you’ve already completed your admitting paperwork, great! If not, after doing so we’ll likely show you a short 5-minute video and then you’ll meet one of our Doctors.
We Explain Everything First
The purpose of your consultation with the doctor is to discuss your health goals and see if chiropractic is likely to help you. If it looks promising, a thorough examination will help identify the cause of your problem. Our Morgantown area patients appreciate that we explain everything in advance! On your Second Visit, we will review all of the exam findings from today’s initial visit. After we study your health history and correlate our examination findings, we’ll make recommendations designed to help you get and keep your health. We call this the Report of Findings. This is usually attended to on your second visit, which may be later the same day or the following day. This two-visit approach accomplishes several things:
- Reduces the length of your first visit
- Gives us time to correlate our findings
- Avoids overloading you with too much information
In certain situations, and in the professional judgment of one of our Doctors, we sometimes make exceptions. It just depends on your unique situation. Your Regular visits will not be as long as your first or second visits to Advantage Health and Wellness.
Regular Visits
After the investment of time needed on the first and second visits, many patients become concerned that every visit will be of equal length.
In a word: no. A typical office visit may require 5-10 minutes IF you are getting an adjustment. Our goal for full therapy which includes our most effective services combined, is to get a person out of the office in less than 90 minutes.
But don’t think the brevity of a regular visit lessens its value! With the groundwork laid, we can quickly size up what your spine and nervous system, adjust you, and get you on your way.
Like a regular workout at the gym, each visit builds on the ones before. Miss a visit and we can lose the momentum necessary to make the needed changes.
We recognize your time is valuable. We do everything possible to run on time and minimize the impact on your busy life.
Our Unique Patient Process
1. Consultation
You will come in and talk with one of our providers AT NO COST to you. This lets you see who we are and what our office feels like. You can tell us about your problem that is a concern to you and let us hear about it. If we think we can help you, we will summarize what we may do to help and let you decide. If your condition is better handled somewhere else – we will tell you that too and help you on your way to another provider.
2. Examination
This is when we set aside the time to get really familiar with every aspect of what is causing your pain. A detailed history and exam are performed and then any testing that can help us understand details will be scheduled. We can help much more when we start with an in-depth evaluation process
3. Report of Findings
Now that we have taken the time to figure out the source of your problems… it’s best that we inform you of it! Let’s sit down for as long as it takes so that you understand what is wrong, what we will do to help, how long it will take, and the tools we are going to use. This step is critical for you because ultimately – our treatment is only as good as your participation in it! You get to choose the approach that best fits your goals, relief care – let’s focus on just reducing pain – OR corrective care – let’s handle the pain, but then take it further and try to fix the problem for good!
4. Financial Report
Now that you have chosen your treatment plan, we make the time to help you put that plan in place. This visit includes time with your case manager to schedule your visits so you can stay on track. Also, we will have been able to take your chosen plan and apply it to your insurance more thoroughly so that we can give you an estimate of your out-of-pocket costs. This lets you see expenses BEFORE they are applied. We hate surprise bills just like you! We can now help you finance if you need with multiple options of interest-free financing when you qualify. And in some cases, financing does have interest – and we can help you through that process too.

Why do we use X-Rays?
X-rays can help determine the necessary course of treatment and reveal if some underlying conditions might interfere with it. For example, patients often come to doctors of chiropractic after having suffered an injury. In many such cases, x-rays are necessary to exclude the possibility of more serious health problems. X-rays are also recommended in older patients- for example, to help detect the probability of osteoporosis- as well as in patients with a history of certain types of arthritis, tumors, and many other conditions.

ChiroHealth USA
Enrollment constitutes a contract between you, ChiroHealth USA, and the doctor’s office. The contract allows you access to lower negotiated fees just like any other network patient. The difference is, ChiroHealth USA owns the contract.
The membership covers you and your legal dependents for the annual fee of $49.00. You are eligible for the lower fees immediately upon payment, and your membership cards will be issued within 24 hours of receipt. ChiroHealth USA memberships are only available to individuals and their legal dependents and may not be transferred. *ChiroHealthusa is Not Insurance and Should Not Replace Current Insurance*

Cancellation Policy: We try to make our schedule very convenient for our patients. In order to accomplish this, we require that you give us 24 hours’ notice for rescheduling your appointment. To avoid a $25 no-show fee, just call Advantage Health and Wellness at (304) 225-9355, and we’ll change our schedule for you and help you find a better time to make your appointment.
